Hi! My name is Ella Wilbur. I am a senior at San Diego State University as a Journalism major. I plan to explore magazine editing and aim to write for a fashion magazine. I love writing creatively and opinion pieces, and I hope to deepen my understanding of professional writing. I have taken a screenwriting summer program through NYU, which I really enjoyed, and have taken multiple creative writing-based classes alongside journalism writing courses. I absolutely love fashion, art, traveling, movies/tv shows, animals, and journaling. I stay up to date on world topics and care deeply for humanitarian crises.
For JMS 430, I really want to gain the skills necessary to work as a magazine editor. I’m eager to showcase my creativity this semester and look forward to exploring San Diego’s fashion culture. Ideally, I’d love to gain the technical skills required to elevate my work and learn how to navigate a professional journalism career.
